FRSC SECTOR COMMANDER PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE Ag. VICE CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Imo State Command, Corp Commander Evaristus Ebeniro today the 18th of April, 2023 paid a courtesy visit to the acting Vice Chancellor of UAES, Prof. Christopher Chiedozie Eze in his office.

While making his remarks, the leader of the team and Sector Commander of Owerri Headquarters , Corp Commander Everistus Ebeniro said they came to congratulate and familiarize with the Vice Chancellor on his appointment and also to seek gainful collaborations to help achieve their collective goals. He took time to explain the functions of the FRSC which he said include public enlightenment , rescue , partnering with key agencies and stakeholders, engineering works like roadside signs and furniture, checking for accurate vehicle documents to ensure drivers are qualified to be on the road for security purposes etc. He also went ahead to request that staff of UAES interested in being Corp Marshalls to indicate interest.

The Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. C.C Eze in his response thanked the Sector Commander and his team for the visit and expressed happiness with their visit. He went ahead to appreciate them for.the good job they are doing. Prof. Eze requested the FRSC to organise workshop for UAES staff and as well as train drivers in the institution. The Vice Chancellor also called on the Registrar Prince Edward Njemanze to inform Staff who may be interested in being Road Marshalls to apply to the Commission. He promised to collaborate with the FRSC on all areas possible.

Staff present were allowed to express their opinion on the performance of the agency and ask questions where necessary. The Sector Commander took time to respond to concerns and clear the air on a couple of issues raised.

Present at the meeting were the Registrar, Prince Edward Njemanze, Bursar, Mr Robert Anikputa, University Librarian, Prof Chidi Nwosu, Ag. Coordinator Works Department, Engr. Anthony Ogbuehi, and the University PRO, Ikechukwu Ogbonna.
