EUROPEAN PROJECT TEAM MEMBERS & FOREIGN COLLABORATORS MEET WITH UAES MANAGEMENT

The EU project team led by Christopher Nayo, yesterday in furtherance of their collaboration with UAES paid a visit to the acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Christopher C. Eze

The team who had earlier met with some UAES senior officials in Abuja came down to the University to see the Vice Chancellor and other senior staff to discuss further modalities for the project at hand .

While speaking during the visit, Christopher Nayo who introduced his team comprising of Chief Oliver Nwankwo, John Amadi and Louisa Meaccioni detailed his experince working across Africa and the pacific for over fifteen years. He said he is currently doing rounds in African villages for the EU. He expressed happiness to be in UAES . He furthered opined that the purpose of the team is to support the growth of communities especially the farmers who are the foundation why the institution was built. They have come to look for a way to bring technology and innovation to farming to cushion harsh effects and help the industry in any way they can he opined. They would bring resources to help develope the society to be similar to what we see outside and aspire to. He further said that the three year project would also teach staff and students on ways to collaborate with foreign agencies to learn new skills for farm mechanization . The team would also open windows for the school to engage with key stakeholders on policy related issues. In conclusion he informed the management that the EU were excited about the project and are willing to collaborate. The project which would last three years would be all encompassing and would leave telling impact. He expressed optimism that UAES would keep to their part of the agreement to have a successful project completed.

In his response, the Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. CC Eze thanked the team and promised to ensure that UAES upholds their own end of the bargain and see to a successful completion of the project which would attract even bigger projects to the school in the future. He also told them to feel free to bring any more useful information of links to the school as we were always open and ready to receive the team.

A team member, Chief Clifford Nwankwo thanked the school for their hospitality and peoactiveness. He said his primary goal now in life is to attract assistance to rural areas in Africa.

When taking the vote of thanks, the Deputy Registrar Mrs. Tina Osuala appreciated the visitors on behalf of the University.
